On June 2nd 2011 Lund University Alumni Association met up at Columbia University, New York, to network and catch up on the latest news from our alma mater in Sweden. Lennart Olsson, professor of geography, founding director of the Centre for Sustainability Studies at Lund University and coordinator with IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change), shared his knowledge in climate change, environmental degradation and the sustainable use of resources. Professor Olsson’s broad agenda of social science research on how different actors can, and should, interact for promoting a better stewardship of our common planet led to an interesting and rewarding discussion. We all left the event with new thoughts as well as new friends!
